Red means forbidden, stop, fire and danger. Yellow indicates the meaning of attention and warning. Equipment, devices or environments are painted with yellow markings and need to be warned. Blue means instructions, rules that must be followed. Green means access, safety and information. Green signs can be used for traffic or safety situations.
To make the safety colours more visible, the national standard provides for the addition of a counter colour, which is generally classified as black or white.
